About the Event

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is a volunteer operated heritage railway in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire offering a round trip of 28 miles. It uses part of the route of the former Great Western Railway's main line from Birmingham to Cheltenham which used to run via Stratford-upon-Avon.

At this event you will have the opportunity for a guided tour of the yard where both steam locomotives and heritage diesel trains are being restored and maintained.

The first visit will start at 10:00 and in groups of 20.

Some rules: Please wear flat closed toe shoes, the tours are unsuitable for children in year 6 and under. Those in years 7-11 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult on the ratio of one adult to two children.

There will be a dedicated parking for BOC members and tea and cake in the Flag and Whistle are included in the ticket price.

Options: while you are visiting the yard why not take a ride in the steam train, which runs between Broadway and Cheltenham Racecourse. Tickets and time tables are available on the day at the ticket office on platform 1.
