About the Event

Friends of Prescott is delighted to host an evening social event with Robert Llewellyn, including a two course dinner in the BOC Clubhouse at Prescott.

Robert has kindly offered to do a talk on the subject of Electric Cars Are Rubbish. Aren't they? The talk will be followed by a question and answer session.  The proceeds of the evening will go to Friends of Prescott to continue their work to make improvements for the benefit of all visitors to Prescott.

Robert (now 66) admits he’s quite old and a bit frayed around the edges but claims he’s still functioning adequately.

He is an occasional comedy actor (Red Dwarf), regular broadcast TV presenter, (Scrapheap Challenge, How Do They Do It, Hollywood Science, Top Trumps).

He has published 12 books; both fiction and non fiction.

In 2001 he had a ride in a very fast electric car in California and this experience had a profound impact.

Through his involvement with science and engineering on television he has been exposed to many cutting edge innovations in the transportation sector.

He is fascinated by the development of electric vehicles with the challenges such disruptive technology has on the status quo.

In 2010 he started the Fully Charged Show on YouTube. The show covers electric vehicles including cars, trucks regularly gets 1 million views a week and is popular around the world.

The company runs live events in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia.

Over the last 12 years he has driven over hundreds of thousands of miles in electric cars and so far hasn’t run out on the side of the road and burst into tears.

It promises to be a very entertaining, interesting and informative evening.
