The Prescott Marshals' Club was formed late 1958 due to a manning problem, i.e. not enough bodies to man the hill resulting in commandeering any one that looked useful on the day. A meeting was held in the "Shutter Inn" Gotherington, with around 15 people present. Club rules were draw up and away we went. The first committee meetings were held in the cheese room at Jackie Weltons house at Pardon hairpin, this continued until it was moved to a local hotel in the town of Bidford on Avon - this was deemed a halfway point between Prescott and Birmingham, at a later date most committee meetings returned to the Cheltenham/Tewkesbury area.

In the early days we turned up at Prescott, signed on wherever we could, given our duties and hill position and away we went, come rain or shine.

Today all signing on is at the "Marshals' Pound" at the far end of the orchard car park, near the wooden bridge, in a wooden hut that has real lights !! Progress..... In the same area sits our larger wooden hut + outside covered area, this boasts running water, electricity, and a gas cooker plus room for a number to sleep over the weekend in reasonable comfort.

During the year social events are held at Prescott or at a local venue, this is due to the distance travelled by members, 100 miles and more in some cases.

After 50 years the club has moved on, but the name of the game is still to provide a high standard of highly trained marshals to 'man' the hill during any given season.

The club is independent of the Bugatti Owners' Club, but they do provide us with monumentous support and we thank them for this, and may it continue for another 50 years.
